The National Zoo In Washington, DC

A giraffe and its feeding trough.
(Tallus longus neckus - Wyle E. Coyote style :^)

This is the stroller parking lot by the Giant
Panda exhibit.
When I see this, I think of movies about motor
cycle gangs.

The giraffe was rubbing and chewing on the
feeding trough.  Why did I tell you that?

Pygmy Hippopotamus
(Hexaprotodon liberiensis)

At the elephant house, there were Asian
Elephants in two different cages.  The big one
was on the right.  The "little" one was on the
left being trained.

neighboring cage.

The elephant was able to pick up individual
pieces of food with his trunk.  He could hold
several and still pick up more individually.  He
would sweep the stuff into a pile and then pick
it up.
